A new movie will be filming soon on the Gulf Coast.  It’s called “The Foreclosure Story” and will feature local actor Brent Loper in the lead role.

“The Foreclosure Story” is based on true events. It’s an action-drama that follows the hopes of a struggling, young father and entrepreneur, Eric Herrholz.  Eric’s
uncanny knack in business garners the attention of the Mob, which at first doesn’t seem such a bad thing. The money is rolling in and life is good. But the American
Dream takes a dark turn. With the lives of his family and all he has worked for at stake, Eric is pushed to his limits to keep ahead of the jailer and out of the grave.

Why When The Truth Be Told – It Falls on Deaf Ears

This video, as our colleague Steve shared, is relevant today. Yes, Steve, it is even more relevant today because in 2010 it had only been 4 years of criminal behavior with no action – in 2016, it has now been 10 years and its like a snowball from hell rolling out of control – TBTF.  “Feed Me, Seymore!”

Georgetown law professor Adam Levitin testifies before Congress regarding the securitization disaster. Continue reading

Fix America’s Rigged Justice System

Published on Feb 3, 2016
Senator Elizabeth Warren’s remarks on the Senate floor on February 3, 2016.

Thank you John Reed for posting this on Facebook.

We have one set of laws on the books, but there are two legal systems: One for the rich and powerful, and one for everyone else. It’s not equal justice when a kid gets thrown in jail for stealing a car, while a CEO gets a huge raise when his company steals billions. Want to see the rigged game in action? Tomorrow, the House will be voting on a GOP bill that would make it much harder to investigate and prosecute bank fraud. The American people remember who broke our economy & who made out like bandits – and they didn’t send us here to help the bandits. To anyone in Congress who thinks they can simply talk tough on crime and then vote to make it even harder to crack down on corporate criminals, hear this: I promise you – I promise you – the American people are watching.

Four Fraud-Busting Citizens Initiate a Plan to Hold the Elite Financial Leaders Accountable and Prevent Further Economic Damage

By Sydney Sullivan

celebrate-whistleblowers-600Four astounding men, Gary Aguirre, Bill Black, Richard Bowen, and Michael Winston, are the founding members of the Bank Whistleblowers United. These well-educated men have the moral integrity and intelligence to see the damage Wall Street has caused and have devised a plan to prevent or at least reduce the frequency and harm of future economic crises.

We, as American citizens, know we have not recovered from the 2008 economic crisis as our present administration and Congressional leaders would like for us to believe. Although lots of warriors have stepped up to battle the banks, none have been as united or noteworthy as these four financial fraud-busting astronauts, venturing into a red banking hole existing in cyberspace which has been an arduous climb up-Hill (pun intended) to penetrate, decipher …and even more difficult to correct.  Continue reading

What’s Really Going on in Oregon! Taking Back the Narrative! We Are the Owners of Our Property.

KrisAnne Hall explains the Constitution of the United States and Declaration of Independence and expounds upon the over reaching authority being consumed by the branches of government.

As she defines the documents and boundaries that govern “We the People” – it becomes clear “it is time for us to understand the proper roll and function of our government.”

“It is time to know the facts. It is time to stand for the truth. […] We are the owners of our property and when a government dictates property – we are nothing…we are nothing… but tributary slaves” Continue reading

An ‘Extremist’ in the United States

An Excellent Re-post from Nation of Change.

RobertJensenI am a mild-mannered (a polite term for “boring”) white Christian man, born and raised in North Dakota, a U.S. state known for being mild-mannered. I teach university courses on freedom of expression and the role of journalism in a democratic society, concepts I take seriously. I also take seriously my obligation as a citizen to participate in conversations about public policy, but I avoid shouting. And I don’t own any weapons.

But beware—I am an extremist.

I am not extreme in the way that U.S. politicians and pundits typically throw the term around these days. I don’t advocate violence to establish a theocracy (whether Christian, Continue reading

Our democracy no longer represents the people. Here’s how we fix it.

Harvard Professor Lawrence Lessig makes the case that our democracy has become corrupt with money, leading to inequality that means only 0.02% of the United States population actually determines who’s in power. Lessig says that this fundamental breakdown of the democratic system must be fixed before we will ever be able to address major challenges like climate change, social security, and student debt. This is not the most important problem, it’s just the first problem.

Maui County Hawaii Leads America in Regulating Corporate Power

A step closer to getting big money out of politics

By ARIANNA FEINBERG (ariannafeinberg@gmail.com)

50005340-10542-001_VictorinoThank you, Maui County Council, under the leadership of Policy and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee Chairman Mike Victorino, for passing Resolution 15-124 “Requesting Maui County’s Congressional Delegation to Support an Amendment to the

United States Constitution to Permit Congress and the States to Regulate the Influence of Corporate Power on the Political System.”

This resolution shows our County Council’s support of overturning the Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission Supreme Court decision, which made it legal for corporations and other special interests to spend unlimited amounts of money to influence elections, as long as they are “uncoordinated” with candidates.
