Just one point of many that are not addressed here.
The government….Just another scape goat to blame, as stated above. The government is not to blame. It is the representatives we elected, the corporate bought legislature and politicians. We live in an oligarchy/corporatist state. Government is not the problem. It is that it is bought and paid for by special interests, corporations, banks and wall street.. “The best congress money can buy.” Get money out of politics? A third or even fourth party? Public financed elections? Public Banking? Every proposed new law or bill voted for on only its merits, separately, never attached to any other legislation?
What makes you think the states would fare any better if they were in charge, and have the same special interests running the show?
What would happen to the environment, health care, food, military spending, EDUCATION?
Look at the states that have not put pollution controls on the oil industry, (like fracking)…
Sure, she is correct according to the constitution. It was intended to remove or mitigate the psychopathic , less than true human tendencies of greed at any cost to the planet and all living things on it. A true human being would not settle for culturally accepted, milder forms of psychopathy…. Profits above everything else? Fraud-closures, trillion dollar student debt, air-water pollution by the oil industry, Over a trillion dollars a year on military spending, fake food-like-substances foisted on everyone and told it is healthy…., For profit health care… socially accepted “beating of ones wife”….get the drift? We, the people have a majority 95% for GMO food labeling… Why is It not in effect? What is it about that though WE as a near 100% majority, is it not so? The answer? We have little or no effect on what is passed as law unless big special interests want it, or, we are placated by a few crumbs to shut us up.
Let’s take a look at a corporation and compare it to a psychopath? Google it for fun….. An FBI profiler did….. EVERY line item, a PERFECT match. Is it any wonder why the planet is in the 6th mass extinction in the life of this planet?
So, what is the basis of the problem? Let me know what bearing these points have on the above discussion…
The reason I am responding like this is because in your assessment, in my opinion, the Cause of the problem is not addressed. The constitution is just a piece of paper. All of us decide what we will do with it. Let me be clear. Count me in for the change. The question is….What KIND of world do we want it to be? How do we treat each other, all living things and this living planet?
Is the solution just to put the states back in charge of their own land? I think not.
