Banker Literally Applauds Elizabeth Warren At Senate Hearing

Somebody remarked about the earlier post that it was an older story… and we relied, “Yes, we’re aware… but isn’t it nice to re-post and irritate the banks?!” Doesn’t it make this next post even more exciting?

Eliz Warren 2-13-15WASHINGTON — Bank regulators and executives typically hope to escape a Senate Banking Committee hearing without becoming the subject of a viral video showing them humiliated at the hands of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.).

On Thursday, however, one witness was pleased enough with Warren’s line of questioning that he actually applauded the Massachusetts Democrat toward the end of her remarks — a highly unusual departure from custom. Continue reading

While you were Trick or Treating – so were the Banks on Capitol Hill

While you were tacking on the last sequins of the Halloween costume and watching the World Series – the banks were handing out cash for votes to scale back the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform law. You probably didn’t hear about it because after that the TSA shooter dominated the news. Another special from “Whaddah I miss?”

s_500_opednews_com_0_financial-derivative-jpg_56223_20130104-458The U.S. House of Representatives voted last Wednesday to scale back a much-debated provision of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform law, handing bank lobbyists a token victory in their fight against the tougher rules. The much-debated provision centered around derivatives. Those fighting the foreclosure wars need not be told the “devil is in the derivatives.” Continue reading

New York Fed Chief Levels Explosive Charge Against Big Banks

morally bankruptAmerica – we have a crisis. A moral decay that stems from decades of deceit and the acceptance of lies, fraud, and morally bankrupt behavior. We’ve allowed politicians, bankers, attorneys and judges to disregard ethical values and operate under a morally bankrupt code of conduct. It is time to demand that the culture change and it has to start at the top.

Our children have no respect for authority and frankly, how can they when Presidents, politicians and bankers lie – all in the name of money. We’ve set the bar so low that by the time the next generation arrives they won’t be able to recognize the truth. Huffington Post’s  reports the NY Fed Chief’s opinion is that the problems need to be address. Finally maybe, yeah?     Continue reading

Money Is Not Safe In The Big Banks

Under the Dodd-Frank Act “losses will be assigned to shareholders and unsecured creditors. …as a depositor in a bank, under the law –
YOU ARE an unsecured creditor.”

Giant bank holding companies now own airports, toll roads, and ports; control power plants; and store and hoard vast quantities of commodities of all sorts.

They are systematically buying up or gaining control of the essential lifelines of the economy. How have they pulled this off, and where have they gotten the money? Continue reading

Wall Street Shows Its Ass Again

Why Wall Street & Co. Will Do Anything to Stop Eliot Spitzer from Championing the Public Interest

The latest post from the AlterNet
Spitzer as comptroller: Good for New York, good for women, terrifying for Wall Street abusers.

Before Eliot Spitzer’s infamous resignation as governor of New York in March 2008, he was one of our fiercest champions against Wall Street corruption, in a state that had some of the toughest legislation for controlling the banks. It may not be a coincidence that the revelation of his indiscretions with a high-priced call girl came less than a month after he published a bold editorial in the
Washington Post titled “ Predatory Lenders’ Partner in Crime: How the Bush Administration Stopped the States from Stepping in to Help Consumers.”  The editorial Continue reading

“Height of Hypocrisy” – Legalize MERS with a National Mortgage Data Repository aka Foreclosure Fraud-Away

Jeb HensarlingWhat does a hypocrite look like? The poster boy for the Republican “Height of Hypocrisy” is Texas 5th District Congressional Representative Jeb Hensarling. The Republicans claim to be for state’s rights, tight borders, and Texas wants to secede from the Union… Yet this whopping idiot wants a national land registry…blur the lines between the states and allows foreign ownership and control!

Apparently, his recent date with Wall Street has thoroughly discolored his state’s rights land recordation thought process. In January this year, Rep. Jeb Hensarling ascended to the powerful chairmanship of the House Financial Services Committee. Six weeks later, campaign finance filings and interviews show, Hensarling was joined by representatives of the banking industry for a ski vacation Continue reading

FDIC – Hide & Sneak …and Seal

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) chairman serves at the pleasure of the President of the United States. During the financial crisis of 2008, Sheila Bair was chairman of the FDIC and was a member of a very small club: competent crisis-era financial regulators. Bair was one of the primary policymakers in Washington, DC during the 2007–2009 financial force majeure.

company-doeIt was during that time many banks and pretender lenders failed, including IndyMac Bank, FSB and Washington Mutual aka “WaMu”. Deals were contrived between banks by the FDIC as it stepped in as receiver to peel off assets making Master Purchasing Agreements between parties.

In some cases, like IndyMac and WaMu, these deals were struck before a bank could seek reorganization under bankruptcy protection. These “deals” included sealing documents that it appears pertain to sale agreements and the operations of the banks that probably should have led to a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation – rather than covering up the potential for fraud under court seal of, as it appears, the “Unassigned Records” as in the case of IndyMac. Is Arrogant Bank Celebrity Jamie Dimon Too Big to Cuff?

Cufflinks AdSen. Kaufman on JPMorgan Chase: Private Lawsuit Found Evidence the Feds Didn’t – Huffington Post

“Think of it as the story of two antagonists,” writes Huffington Post’s Richard Eskow. “One of them was an honest senator who came to Washington to fight corruption.

The other is an arrogant banker who’s so sure of his untouchability that he wore “FBI” cuff-links when he made a public appearance last month.”  Eskrow continues in his brilliant exposé:

The Silent Killer – like a heart attack – these thieves will destroy America

“Someday, it will go down in history as the first trial of the modern American mafia,” wrote Matt Taibbi in June 2012 in Rolling Stone’s The Scam Wall Street Learned From the Mafia – How America’s biggest banks took part in a nationwide bid-rigging conspiracy – until they were caught on tape.  Add that to Neil Barofsky’s new book BAILOUT where he discusses how this behavior stems from the fact that the Wall Street banks control and manipulate the U.S. Treasury…

And we begin to understand why this seems to be a never-ending nightmare.
